Since its founding by the sacred Ali’i Nui Keōpūolani almost 200 years ago, Waiola Church has been a center of life in Lahaina, and Maui. It has served as a gathering place and house of worship; a site of Hawaiian royalty and cultural practice, weddings, celebrations, and much more – for many generations. We preserve our culture by conducting part of the service, prayers and hymns in Hawaiian.
Waiola also carries the vital kuleana of honoring our beloved Hawaiian Ali’i by caring for their final resting place.
When you celebrate your Maui wedding at Waiola, you support and join in the rich history of a cherished Maui community.
Our historic church is available for your wedding ceremony or vow-renewal, with one of our Na Kahu (ministers) officiating.
